![]() ![]() In order to fit the image of the character as much as possible, I went to many places.įor example, I went to Ejina Banner when I was shooting "Gu Diao", and then I went to Dunhuang and Jiuquan to film "South China Sea Butterfly" and "Nine-Tailed Fox". I am not limited to just these materials and fabrics, just to achieve the effect I want, I use everything. In order to fit the imaginary environment where the alien beast is located, Chen Xin looked around for natural scenery to shoot. In order to restore the image of the alien animal in the book as much as possible, Chen Xin has so far produced more than 30 unique costumes, some of which consumed 7,000 or 8,000 feathers and cost tens of thousands of yuan. When I saw that I thought it was very inspiring for me, I thought that if a model was thin and had a curved back with horns, it would be beautiful. It was the first time I turned to the page of Chenghuang. I think the "Shan Hai Jing" attracts me because of its unconstrained imagination. Since then, Chen Xin began to collect different versions of "Shan Hai Jing", and shot the first group of "Shan Hai Jing" anthropomorphic works-"Cheng Huang". ![]() When she grew up, Chen Xin came into contact with the "Shan Hai Jing" and discovered that the ethereal stories in her memory actually have their origins, and that is the all-encompassing "Shan Hai Jing". Chen Xin's interest in gods, spirits and animals stems from the myths told by her grandmother when she was a child. I have gone from knowing nothing to everything, such as (learning) sewing, skillfully using various materials, and constantly researching new materials, and then adding them to my work. I was the first to shoot the anthropomorphic part of "Shan Hai Jing", so I didn't have a lot of reference, maybe (just) a piece of text for me to refer to. We can only refine them through imagination and through the author's description. There are many things that we don't have in reality. In fact, "Shan Hai Jing" may be more difficult for me because it is very abstract. Throughout the creative process, Chen Xin was not only in charge of photography, she took care of everything from the drawing of the manuscripts to the costumes and makeup, to the production of props and the layout of the scene. Recently, in Wangjiang Park, Chengdu, Chen Xin is preparing to take a group of personification photos of the strange beast "Yong" in "The Classic of Mountains and Seas". Over 30 groups of anthropomorphic works of "Shan Hai Jing" have been shot. It records the bifang who gave birth to only one foot, the shark who weeping pearls, the fox with nine tails, and many other very mysterious A sense of spirit and beast.īeginning in 2017, Chen Xin, a female photographer from Chengdu, Sichuan, who was born after the 95s, reintroduced her own understanding through character modeling and image restoration, and created a beautiful world of "Shan Hai Jing" twice. It records a large number of myths and legends. ![]() (ed.): Shan Hai Jing."The Book of Mountains and Seas" is an ancient book full of mythology.
